Do you feel like nobody truly understands you? Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, guilt, shame, relationship challenges, trauma, ADHD, or life and career transitions, Lindsay is here to support you. With a compassion-focused lens, she specializes in trauma with EMDR therapy and has extensive training and education with ADHD, learning disabilities, and career counselling.
Lindsay comes from a diverse background, having worked in veterinary medicine, cosmetology, advertising, and as of the past 6 years, the education field, as a secondary and post-secondary teacher. Her focus remains on guiding individuals to understanding what works best for their own unique learning experience. Lindsay likes to teach effective coping skills that build resilience for lasting change beyond therapy sessions, so you leave sessions feeling confident.
Utilizing evidence-based approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Lindsay tailors her methods to each individual’s unique needs and preferences. She believes in a bottom-up approach: meaning, looking at how our nervous system is responding (and dysregulated) to our environment and impacting our thoughts, behaviours, and emotions.
She is also trained to work with couples through an Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman, and Relational Life Therapy lens. Being married and with her partner for 16 years, Lindsay appreciates the complexity that comes along with marriage and relationships. She will provide you skills and tools to try outside the therapy room, but also work through the deeper rooted emotions and underlying needs in session.
For those seeking in-person sessions outside of traditional four walls, she incorporates animal-assisted therapy, and for a more active approach, she offers walk-and-talk therapy (both are seasonal at this time).
In her spare time outside of the office, Lindsay enjoys travelling (having been to 13 countries, and 150+ cities worldwide!), spending time working with animal rescues and her own fur kids, reading, art and music, and enjoying nature and the outdoors (you can usually catch her on a beach in summer).
If you’re ready to take the first step, Lindsay looks forward to walking alongside you.
