Frequently Asked Questions
It’s a one-time, focused conversation with a certified counsellor. Counsellors are not psychotherapists, rather trained in specific areas (like addictions support, grief, relationships, etc.) and focused on solutions, so you’ll explore a concern or question and leave with tools, strategies, or a new perspective – with no commitment to ongoing sessions.
Absolutely! You’re welcome to book additional sessions with the counsellor for counselling and solution-focused support. They can continue to help with things like stress management, substance use, motivation, and coping strategies. However, they do not provide psychotherapy and are not able to work with complex or serious mental health disorders. If your needs go beyond their scope, we’ll help connect you with a registered therapist on our team or refer you to the right support.
If your needs go beyond the scope of this service, we can help connect you with a registered psychotherapist, social worker, or other appropriate care, including our collaborative program with psychiatrists for diagnosis and medication.

Our single-session counselling is offered at a reduced rate to keep it accessible. Our counsellor offers a set fee of $75 per 50-minutes, but we also offer sliding scales for those struggling to pay that fee. Please note these sessions may not be covered by insurance.
